How To Assemble Multi-Page Maps:

  1. After printing the map pages lay them out to determine the proper order.
  2. Starting at the upper left corner (the northwest corner), trim the pages on the right or bottom edges where there is a dotted line.
  3. Be sure not to trim the bottom edges of the bottom row of the map or the right edges of the right column.
  4. Take the upper left corner sheet and overlap it onto the sheet to its right up to the dark gray line.
  5. Tape them and then continue across to complete the top row.
  6. Add rows one at a time.

Free printable outline maps of North America and North American countries.

North America is the northern continent of the Western hemisphere. It is entirely within the northern hemisphere. Central America is usually considered to be a part of North America, but it has its own printable maps. North America goes from the Arctic circle to the southern tip of Mexico, which connects to Central America. The Atlantic Ocean is on the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
North America is dominated by three large countries — Canada, the United States and Mexico, all of which stretch from the Atlantic ocean on the east to the Pacific ocean on the west. Kids can label the five Great Lakes, the Great Salt Lake, Great Bear Lake and Great Slave Lake. Students can draw in the Mississippi/Missouri river system, the St. Lawrence River, the Everglades swamp in Florida. The Rio Grande separates the United States from Mexico. The Gulf of Mexico lies between the United States and Mexico.
The Rocky Mountains run from western Canada south to Mexico, where they meet up with the Sierra Madre mountains on the west coast of Mexico. The Brooks Range and the Alaska Range mountains are in Alaska. Children can draw in the mountains, and locate Death Valley in California. The Appalachians, much older and more gentle, run along the eastern side of the United States.
Because it is free, the map can be drawn on, to trace trips to Grandparents house, or where kids' parents came from. It can also be used to mark historical journeys — the Oregon Trail or Lewis and Clark or the Transcontinental Railroad or the battles of the Civil War. Fictional journeys such as those of Huckleberry Finn or Jack London's characters can also be drawn on the map.
Major cities include New York, Toronto, Mexico City and Los Angeles.
