US States and Capitals Map Puzzle

     The United States Map Puzzle is the easiest way to learn the US states and capitals.

  You learn both the names of the US states and capitals, and also their locations on the map.  By moving the US states into their correct location, and then the capitals, it is easier to remember where the states and capitals go.
     The United States consists of 50 states, 48 of them contiguous (touching each other) and 2 which are separated from the others--Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean and Alaska on the west coast of North America.  Alaska borders Canada, but not the rest of the US states.  The boundaries of the states may be determined by a combination of sea coasts, rivers, straight lines on a map, historic treaties, or may appear random. It is important to know and recognize the states, their capitals, and where they are in the US.  The diversity of shapes and sizes of the states reflect their diversity of geography, and in many cases, history.
