Nepal lies between China on the north and India
on the other three sides. Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world,
is on the border between Nepal and Tibet (China). Eight of the ten highest
mountains in the world are in Nepal or on its borders. With the Himalayans
to the north, down to subtropical valleys (Kanchan Kalan at 70m and Mount
Everest at 8,850m) Nepal has a tremendous differences in elevation in a
small country. Nepal is famous as the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.
